"They gave themselves as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability...See that you also excel in this grace of giving...Your plenty will supply what they need.”  (2 Corinthians 8:3,7,14) NIV

Faith Promise is a way of giving to world evangelism.  Rather than waiting to respond to individual appeals as they come along, believers ask the Lord how much they should give to missions over the next year.  They then commit to that annual total as a “Faith Promise”.  Faith...

Community (see Micah's blog) and Service.  One without the other leads to unhealthy life.  I had a dear professor who said, “Impression without expression leads to depression.”  Meaning, being fed by the Word of God without working that into your life will leave you lost. We must fully and wholeheartedly put our efforts into God’s purposes for our lives (Matthew 6:33).

The reverse is also true, “Expression without impression leads to depression”.  We have all fel...

Being a part of the kingdom of God means there is a task at hand.  Each of us, once receiving the Spirit, is also given gifts—talents to help us further the goals of the Kingdom (1 Corinthians 12:27-31).  What we have to realize though is that we aren’t given these gifts so that we can work alone.  Community is desperately important for two reasons.

First, we are in community to build and be built back up.  When we gather together, scripture actually tells us th...

Our Faith Promise Sunday for 2018 will be March 4.  Pledge cards will be available for you to indicate the Faith Promise amount you will begin to give faithfully throughout the year.  This year will be a 50/50 split between Will Walls (A Lamp Unto My Feet) and Mountain Mission School in Grundy, Virginia.  Our guest speaker will be Steve Fulton from Mountain Mission School.  We will also be blessed  to have several students from MMS who will be serving in both services on the 4th.

For 2018, the leadership at Center would like to give a call to prayer!  Scripture is clear that we are to be people of prayer.  That involves each of us individually, as well as corporately.    At the beginning of the month we will invite you all to join us in intercessory prayer for a specific area on your own throughout the month and then we will join together for intercessory prayer on the 4th Sunday.  Our prayer concerns this month are the unbelieving and lost.  Joi...

There is an iconic World War I poster made in 1917 by James Montgomery Flagg.  It was entitled “I want You”. It’s purpose was clear to recruit for the US Army.  Today this image is so prolific we sometimes forget the desperate days that marked the reason for why it was created.

We now are in a war.  Not for land or rights or resources, but for the souls of men and women, boys and girls.  The Apostle Paul said, “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil ru...

On Sunday, November 19, we will be receiving our annual Thanksgiving Offering during both services.  On this day, special offering envelopes will be included in the bulletins for your use.  Envelopes will be made available in the pews on 11/12 also.

Again this year, all gifts received will be given to International Disaster Emergency Services (IDES) unless otherwise noted on your envelope.

IDES is a local Christian organization that exists to meet the physical and spiritual needs of su...

Next Tuesday is Halloween.  In many of our towns, streets fill with costumed kids looking for delicious treats.  If you happen to live in one of these areas, you have a great opportunity to get to know your neighbors.

What if this year we, as a church, could help you make a bigger impact?  What if you were equipped to make an eternal impact?  What if the good news of Jesus could be shared?  Bottom line: IT CAN!

This Sunday there will be Halloween Equip Packages for pick up at...

Several amazing things happened Sunday night at our “Missions Evening” with Missionary, CY Kim.  First of all, it is always so exciting to hear all that God is doing through the ministry of CRAM Worldwide, Inc.  If you are not familiar with this mission work in several countries in Asia, please check out their website at cramwinc.org and pray for the Gospel of Christ to go out to the lost and hurting in these countries.
