In June and July, our sermon series will be focusing on how Jesus has fulfilled, or will fulfill, the Jewish Feasts as instructed by God for the Jewish people in the Old Testament.

On Thursday, June 21 at 6:30 p.m., you are invited to experience Jesus in the Passover Seder Meal.  Please RSVP by Friday, June 15 by either calling the church office or by signing up at the Sign-up Center in the church foyer.

Families and individuals are welcome to celebrate Jesus, our Passover Lamb, as each table wal...

Life Groups ... Do Life Together

Have you ever thought, "Wow, I wish I had someone to share this victory with"; or "I wish I had someone who knew me and my overwhelming situation and could listen and pray for me."

Life Groups, or Small Groups as they are sometimes called, provide an avenue to be Connected, Loved, and Encouraged.  Life Groups also have avenues of Service.

Center Christian Church has several groups that meet regularly.  If you would like more information, please contact Darryl Denney...

“Jesus, once more deeply moved, came to the tomb.  It was a cave with a stone laid across the entrance.  ‘Take away the stone,’ he said.  ‘But, Lord,’ said Martha, the sister of the dead man, ‘by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days.’  Then Jesus said, ‘Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?’  So they took away the stone.  Then Jesus looked up and said, ‘Father, I thank you that you have heard me.  I knew that you always hear me, but I...

Community (see Micah's blog) and Service.  One without the other leads to unhealthy life.  I had a dear professor who said, “Impression without expression leads to depression.”  Meaning, being fed by the Word of God without working that into your life will leave you lost. We must fully and wholeheartedly put our efforts into God’s purposes for our lives (Matthew 6:33).

The reverse is also true, “Expression without impression leads to depression”.  We have all fel...

Being a part of the kingdom of God means there is a task at hand.  Each of us, once receiving the Spirit, is also given gifts—talents to help us further the goals of the Kingdom (1 Corinthians 12:27-31).  What we have to realize though is that we aren’t given these gifts so that we can work alone.  Community is desperately important for two reasons.

First, we are in community to build and be built back up.  When we gather together, scripture actually tells us th...

If you are between the ages of 18 and 30 and feel like it’s hard to find a place to connect and relate within the church, then we want to invite you to be a part of an ongoing Sunday school class to create that connection and community. Starting the first Sunday in March, at 9:45 a.m., in Room 201, we invite you to become “Rooted”.

Planning Sunday’s worship services, I have been contemplating and fleshing out an important understanding of communicating with God during our times of worship together.  Often worship leaders “invite the presence of God into the space”.  As I sought this out in scripture, I’ve noticed two things.  First, God is omnipresent, meaning that the presence of the Lord is everywhere at once.  (Isaiah 66:1-2, Jeremiah 23:23-24, Job 38:19-20, 32-33, Psalm 11:4-5)  Second, and possibly more poignantly, Je...

For 2018, the leadership at Center would like to give a call to prayer!  Scripture is clear that we are to be people of prayer.  That involves each of us individually.  We are to also be a people of prayer which involves each of us corporately.  On the 4th Sunday of each month throughout this year, we will set aside time in each service on Sunday morning to do just that—PRAY.  At the beginning of the month we will invite you all to join us in intercessory prayer for a specific area on your own t...

As parents we sometimes get lost in the busyness of schedules, or diapers, or car keys (depending on your phase).  Darryl spoke on Sunday about the scariest drift that can happen to any Christian, moreover any Christian parent:  “We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.”  (Hebrews 2:1)

I distinctly remember a time when I was driving back from my family’s homeland in Arkansas.  It was very late at night and I began to drift a...
