How do you lead your family in worship?  Summer is here and many will be seeing more of our families.  Last time we focused on how this is a good opportunity to think about worshiping as a family.

Part two is discovering ways your family connects with God in worship.  This is the horizontal aspect of worship—worship done as a group and between us and God.  Worship done as a group is about bringing unity between all of us to Christ.  When viewed through the lens of this corporate kind of wors...

As we have been doing we've got some videos of the song sets that we will be singing together.

This week I have looked for some videos that are performed a little bit differently than you may have sung these songs in the past. Sometimes hearing a song in a new way gives us a chance to stop and let God speak through the song in a new way. When You listen through these songs, ask the Spirit to breathe new life into them for you so that you can grow all that much closer to Him. Keep singing with you...

Wow!  What an amazing week at Mahoning Valley!  Micah and I shared six days solid with 74 forth and fifth graders and their leaders.  For you parents, we covered Psalm 139 with specific focus on verses 13-16.  Each day had a bottom line.  We learned that God made us and that we are made to trust God, follow Jesus, serve Him, serve others as well as shine together

Now … VBS is right around the corner, and we are going to share these same teachings with a whole new batch of 3...

Two experiences in particular that stand out to me the most, involved a balloon launch and a d...

How do you lead your family in worship? Summer is here and many will be seeing more of our families, so this is a good opportunity to reflect on this.

Part one is finding the ways you best connect with God in worship. We will call this the vertical aspect of worship—worship that is personal and between me and God. Not long ago our church discussed the different styles of evangelism. Well there are many different styles or ways that we can personally encounter God (I am talking about more than jus...

I recently was blessed with a family vacation.  This vacation included some much needed time with Jane’s aunts, uncles and cousins from the Illinois side of the family.  It also included a day with my side of the family, and of course time with my lovely wife and girls.

I have learned to enter vacation with not only a need for some family time, rest and relaxation, but also with an expectation for God to do some needed re...
