March 26th, we looked at the third Core Practice (or Spiritual Discipline) in the Believe Series—Bible Study.  Let’s be honest, many Christians struggle reading God’s Word, let alone studying God’s Word.

On the 26th, we looked at the example of the Berean Jews in Acts 17:11-12.  If you missed the sermon on Bible Study, check it out on the Church’s Facebook page, or on the website (centerchristianchurch.org) under the media tab, or call the church office for a DVD copy.

If you are open...

It is with a sad heart I write to you today.  We have experienced quite a few losses in the past week or so.  I wanted to take a few moments and write to you from a pastoral prospective.  Specifically, I want to equip you with a few tools to help others grieve.

Grief is a good and Godly process.  In our broken world, we do experience loss.  Yet, in our broken humanity, God has an opportunity.  Through loss, God can and does move through us to be a vessel of hope, love, and care....

For the last two newsletters we have looked into the four major pillars of the early church’s worship together as a body.  “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” (Acts 2:42 NIV).  Last time we specifically looked at fellowship, next we will see...

We see this in 2 Chronicles 20:21,...

In order to prepare our hearts for worship, here is the upcoming worship set for March 19th 2nd service!

Below is our 1st service set. Lets prepare our hearts to talk about Prayer.

Last time we looked into the four major pillars of the early church’s worship together as a body.  “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” (NIV).  We looked for a bit at the Apostles’ teaching, next we will see...

Fellowship:

How many of us consider times of fellowship to be worship?  I mean, fellowship is what we do when we enjoy one another’s company, particularly around some food (Jack’s Donuts?), and laugh and share and...

What a wonderful day we had on Sunday!  Faith Promise is such an exciting time for our congregation to partner with ministries expanding the Kingdom of God (A Lamp Unto My Feet Ministries and Restoration House Ministries) as well as connecting with ministries that we support on an on-going basis (Johnson University).

It was also perfect how Faith Promise fell on the Sunday that our “Believe” Series focused on stewardship.   Webster's dictionary defines stewardship as “th...
